To avoid that morning after awkwardness, plan ahead. Most of all, decide where you’re going to hook up. You don’t have to do it at your place, and that’s the number one location that you’re going to get stuck dealing with a situation after the night ends that you may not want.

Here are a few of the different scenarios you might find yourself in while hooking up with a woman, and a few suggestions.

Taking Her Back to Your Place

The perks and drawbacks of taking a hookup back to your place are wide and varied. On the plus side, that’s what you pay to have a home for: to do what you like in it. Taking a woman back to your own bed to hook up might seem like a great idea. Not only will it be comfortable and you don’t have to deal with getting home after the fact, but it’s also your own territory. That’s where the drawbacks come in.

If you take a hookup back to your own bedroom, she’s now going to know where you live and what your deal is once she sets foot into your home. While that can be fine if she’s also just looking for a hookup, it can also lead to disaster. You don’t want her showing up at your front door randomly because she thinks you’re soul mates and you haven’t called her.

The other problem with this situation is that you’ve also got to figure out a way to part ways the next morning without kicking her out and making her feel cheap. Overall, we suggest not taking her back to your place unless you really know she’s not crazy.

Alternate Options

The two main alternatives here are going to be returning to her place to hook up or taking it to a motel. While a motel is fine, it’s also both expensive as well as cheap, even if it’s not. A motel has an inherently cheap reputation. This can either be hot or insulting. Once again, where you decide to hook up also depends a lot on how well you know the woman. If you think she’s going to be offended at suggesting a motel, don’t do it.

The other possibility is going back to her place, so mention it. Don’t be shy once it’s been established that you both want to hook up and are interested in a one night stand. You can easily make an excuse, like you live with your family or you have a crazy roommate who doesn’t like company. At this point, it’s okay to tell a white lie about why you can’t have her back to your place.
